The Story of Juan Tamad

Once upon a time, there was a lazy young man named Juan Tamad. He lived with his parents in a small village. Juan's parents were farmers, and they worked hard to provide for their family. But Juan was lazy. He refused to help his parents with the farm work. He would rather sleep all day or play with his friends.

One day, Juan's parents were getting ready to plant rice. They asked Juan to help them, but he refused. He said that he was too tired. Juan's parents were very disappointed, but they didn't know what to do. They couldn't force Juan to work.

That night, Juan was sleeping in his bed when he heard a strange noise. He opened his eyes and saw a group of tikling birds standing in his room. The tikling birds are small, yellow birds that live in the Philippines. They are known for their beautiful singing.

When the rice was ripe, Juan's parents were ready to harvest it. They asked Juan to help them, but he refused. He said that he was too tired. Juan's parents were very disappointed, but they didn't know what to do. They couldn't force Juan to work.

That night, the tikling birds returned to Juan's room. They told him that they were going to help his parents harvest the rice. Juan was surprised, but he agreed.
